Armenian Church of Southwest Florida Hosts First Annual Picnic

ACSWFL_2014Picnic

On March 18, the Armenian Church of Southwest Florida (ACSWFL) held its first church-sponsored picnic.  Sixty-eight parishioners attended the event which was held at Longshore Lakes in Naples, Florida.  The sumptuous buffet displayed a vast assortment of appetizers including sarma and hummus, as well as an excellent choice of entrées. Coffee and dessert completed this wonderful feast.

Margaret Harootunian, hostess of the event, provided each guest with a small packet of goodies. Inside each packet was a ticket for the many door prizes donated by local establishments.

Following the meal, guests played various games which they had brought from home.  Tavooli, mahjong, and dominos seemed to be the most popular.  A great time was had by all and we look forward to carrying on the tradition next year!

Reminder that our next church service will be held on April 6th at 1:30 pm at St Paul’s Church, 3901 Davis Blvd., Naples, Florida.  Rev. Fr. Mampre will be the celebrant.

Long time parishioner Ara Nersesian served as Godfather of the Cross at the Blessing of the Water Ceremony.

The ACSWFL has grown over the last few years as they have a full schedule of events planned this season, as FLArmenians reported last month.
