BIOGRAPHY

Described by the legendary Maxim Vengerov as owner of the “violinistic hands so close to perfection” and “an extremely talented and promising musician,” Nune Melikian is one of the most noted violinists of her generation.

A winner of AGBU Performing Arts Fellowship 2013-2014, Nune Melikian is a top prize of various international competitions including the Oistrakh International Competition in Moscow; the Andrea Postacchini International Competition; LISMA Foundation International competition, University of Montreal Concerto Competition.

She has performed in venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall, Merkin City Hall and the Bolshoy Hall. She enrolled in the Moscow Conservatory as one of the top five contenders.

In 2009  she became the youngest student accepted to the Masters’ at the University of Montreal. She recently obtained her Artist Diploma with Mr. Albert Markov, professor of the Manhattan School of Music, in New York.September 2015 marked Nuné Melikian’s obtaining of the 1750 Carlo Ferdinando Landolfi Violin from the Canada Council Musical Instrument Bank.
