3 Year Old Armenian Boy in South Florida Struck By Tragedy

POMPANO BEACH, FL – On Tuesday, November 23rd, the Tokatlian-Maltez family of Pompano Beach, FL suffered a terrible tragedy when their 3-year-old son, Aren, was hit by a car in front of their home. Aren suffered a traumatic brain injury and was rushed into emergency surgery. He miraculously survived and is slowly improving every day. For six grueling weeks filled with setbacks and multiple surgeries, he received tremendous care by the doctors and nurses in the pediatric ICU and was finally able to come home on December 29th.
Though Aren has returned to his family, he still has a very long journey ahead of him as he slowly has to relearn basic skills that he had before the accident. Aren is going to need continued care and various therapies on the road to recovery – the bills for which are already beginning to pile up.
In this season of giving, we encourage all members of our community to band together to lessen the burden for the Tokatlian-Maltez family as they care for Aren.

Florida Armenians and the entire Armenian community in South Florida supports the Tokatlian-Maltez family during this terrible time. We pray Aren has a quick recovery and can return to the healthy and happy little boy he was sooner rather than later.
